Blenheim Scouts Archery Range

We want to purchase equipment for our archery range so we can continue to provide this activity to Scouts and other community groups.
About this cause
We are a large group of around 150 members mainly for ages ranging from 6 to 18. We provide normal scouting skills such as cooking, tying knots etc. However, we also provide activities that stretch their co-ordination, improve their self esteem and provide them with the social skills required for adulthood including camps, climbing and learning about life in general. Blenheim Scouts involve Parents/Guardians, providing the Adults with activities and social events. Our headquarters has a cycle track, multi use games area and an archery range for use by our group and other organisations. We benefit the community by keeping young people off the streets. We provide skills that schools cannot teach and cannot be gained from computers. We are a social centre for the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
One of the activities located at our Headquarters is archery at our archery range. The range is used by scout groups and a range of other community groups including schools. We have trained young people to deliver this activity, giving them a qualification to go on CVs. The range has also been be used by businesses looking for team building activities and also at birthday parties. The range is 10 years old and the equipment needs replacing. We wish to purchase new target bosses and stands, backstop safety netting and necessary accessories (screws and wire). Some of the wood around the perimeter also needs replacing. The work would be carried out by the Scout Group. This will allow us to continue to deliver this activity to our group and the local community for many years to come.
