We want to improve our facilities so that kids can have even more amazing Scouting experiences!
About this cause
We are a Scout group in West Bridgford, Nottingham and we have a fabulous history of providing Scouts for local youngsters. We do Summer camps each year and, every three years, the camp is an international jamboree with our three international partner groups from Norway, Denmark and Belgium. Our Scout group changes lives by providing kids with outdoor and back-to-basics experiences to complement the compulsory education that they partake in and any other activities which they may do. There are scientific studies that suggest that Scouts is highly beneficial for humans in the long term, spiritually, emotionally and in many other ways. We are currently growing in terms of numbers of kids across our four sections and, as a charity, we rely on subscription fees and donations. Please help!
How this cause brings people in the community together
The hall where we meet is a very beautiful and old building but it has not been properly cared for in its recent past. I am talking about the foyer, the back yard, the office, the underfloor storage spaces. We have large numbers of kids meeting at our place every week for Scouts and we want to make the place the best it can be. Aesthetically pleasing and practical all in one. But these things cost money. The people who will benefit are the Scouts themselves primarily, but also the parents and family of the Scouts, as Scouts helps the youngsters to become better people. And, then, the wider community will benefit too. Scouts has been around for over a hundred years and it is currently undergoing a renaissance both in the world and in West Bridgford. We want that to continue! Help us!
