About this cause
Our goal is to provide or assist in the provision of facilities and events for recreation, rehabilitation, sport and leisure time occupation, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of facilities and opportunities for swimming for people with disabilities and their families, in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving their condition.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This project will enable families, children, young people and adults with a disability to enjoy the benefits of regular exercise, social opportunity, shared identity and swimming. It will also provide opportunities for young people and adults to volunteer with our user-led charity, learn new skills and develop. Aquatic activities and regular exercise are something many people take for granted. This funding will make the activities low cost and accessible for most people. Swimming is uniquely accessible due to the weightlessness of the water for people with SEND.
