How this cause brings people in the community together
Our monthly plogging sessions will empower the local community to make a real tangible difference on climate issues and support community cohesion and wellbeing by uniting people for a common cause to take collective action. The group will be led for a one-hour 3–5k session by a fully trained member of the local community. Each participant will be provided with litter-picking equipment and together will target at least three community spaces to be cleaned. At the end of each session, the litter collected will be weighed and sorted into recycling. All participants will benefit from the exercise itself, social interaction in a positive environment and a sense of self-esteem, having achieved something for both the community and the wider environment.
