About this cause

Healthwatch Essex collects data and lived experience from the public of Essex relating to health and social care services and uses that information to inform the way services are designed and delivered. It is important to us that the work we do creates meaningful change. Since we were formed our research and information and guidance teams have worked with thousands of people across Essex to understand the bigger picture of how people experience health and social care here. The Women's Forum would carry on the success of the Fella's Forums, getting groups of people out and about in nature talking and participating in activity aimed at reducing social isolation and improving community connections.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our Women's Forum will enable a reduction in social isolation and implement a co-produced community group who can share lived life experience to improve each other's physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions will be designed with the group and could include guest attendees who can give the community insight into women's health improvements through services. The Women's Forum can also feed back to services to help improve them, giving the services valuable lived life experience. Sessions will include food and drink and, dependent on the members' activity, music, arts, crafts and light physical activity to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
