We want to continue working with our expanding group of young people to help them develop creative and employability skills and give them a sense of ownership of our space to take us into the future.

About this cause
We are a not-for-profit CIC fostering cultural heritage, creativity, community and wellbeing. We act on an impartial basis to support, advocate, influence and enable creative industries development in Herne Bay, and widen access to education and participation in creative and cultural activities. We specifically support vulnerable, deprived and marginalised groups. We explore new ways of working in partnership with other local organisations and educational partners to enhance the impact and outcomes we can achieve. We create new opportunities for emerging creatives to maximise the impact of their work on their economic and emotional wellbeing. We listen to people, partners and the community, and respond to their needs. We care for our community and are inclusive and welcoming to all.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We want to encourage and help young people who may have mental health issues, different learning styles, and other social problems to develop confidence, employability skills including communication, team-working, creative thinking, self-management and independent learning. We want to enable our young people to develop their creative practice skills and to become an important part of the future development of Beach Creative so that it becomes a truly intergenerational space and is representative of their needs as well as the rest of the community. We want to give them chances to work with other community groups in the district and help shape the future of Herne Bay.
