About this cause

At Air Time CIC we partner with nature to offer equitable, evidence-based support for mental health and wellbeing. We are a regional, one-stop shop for individuals and groups who experience barriers to accessing mental health support. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we reduce health inequalities by empowering people with the tools to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Drawing on principles of Ecotherapy, Forest School, Mindfulness, and Social & Therapeutic Horticulture, Air Time delivers nature-based programmes and sessions to foster a deeper connection to nature to support positive wellbeing. We work with adults and teenagers.

How this cause brings people in the community together

One in five children and young people have a probable mental disorder. Of those, more than one in four have a parent who can’t afford for their child to take part in activities outside school or college (NHS, 2023). ‘Naturally Creative’ is an after-school club for 13–17-year-olds. With your help we can offer free places to those who could not otherwise afford to take part. Relaxed and inclusive sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to empower teens with tools to reduce stress, fatigue, isolation, anxiety, and depression. Drawing on principles of Nature Connectedness, Ecotherapy, the Six Ways to Wellbeing, Forest School and Social & Therapeutic Horticulture, seasonal activities include caring for wildlife, nature journaling, nature art and crafts, food growing, and mindfulness.
