About this cause
We work with children and young people who are experiencing poor mental wellbeing for a variety of reasons including being a victim of domestic abuse in the family home. We also work with school age children in a healthy relationships programme and with those who are suicidal or self-harming. We support children and young people in developing a set of coping skills to enable them to manage their issues and move forward, gaining education and employment through therapeutic support. We also support our community including older people through a community/client forum held monthly to discover what is needed within our community and make provision within our services, e.g. weekly craft group for all ages.

How this cause brings people in the community together
Our creative therapies will help children and young people to reduce the isolation that poor mental health can bring. It will give them a creative or talk therapy outlet to process their problems and help them to move forward in life without anxiety and self-harm. It will take away the stigma created by poor mental health that so many young people experience. This will enable them to engage with education and ultimately work in the future. It will also help parents of young people who have poor mental health to understand their difficulties and give them strategies to support their child.
