Kernow Men's Society
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We aim to help improve the social engagement and mental wellbeing of local men. We do that by running our weekly meetings where these men can meet up with others and chat over free soft refreshments.

About this cause
We help local men over the age of 18 who may be dealing with issues such as loneliness, social exclusion, bereavement, divorce and poor mental health etc. We do this by offering these men the opportunity to meet up with others (who themselves may be dealing with similar issues) on a regular weekly basis to engage in friendly conversation in a welcoming environment with free soft refreshments.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our group meetings allow local men of all age groups from 18 plus the opportunity to meet up with new friends to share time, opinions, knowledge and general conversation over free soft refreshments in a friendly and welcoming environment. We also welcome local health and wellbeing professionals to our meetings so that our attendees can learn about important matters that can impact them such as type 2 diabetes, prostate cancer, domestic violence and local societal issues. Group members can also join us at regular trips to the local ten pin bowling alley, which further fosters new friendships, and at our yearly Christmas Meal at no cost to them. The Christmas Meal is especially valued as for many members this may be the only time they are able to gather with friends over the festive period.
