About this cause
fairandfunky is a community interest company with the mission statement: empowering people to take little steps to change the world. fairandfunky delivers interactive and creative workshops to schools and community groups, runs events, hosts SCRAPtastic community workshops and is the go-to organisation for local and global sustainability education in Yorkshire. Everything we do is centred around the key global themes of recycling, the environment, climate change, sustainability and Fairtrade. We believe that as individuals we each have the power to make a positive difference in the world; through the way we act, what we wear, where we shop and what we do. fairandfunky enables people to make positive choices, empowering them to take their own little steps to change the world.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Holme Valley Green Week will empower the local community with the knowledge that they can have a positive impact on people and planet, by taking little steps to change the world. During a time where climate anxiety is prevalent, we will put positive action and activities in the hands of the young people, to bring about change. We believe that as individuals we each have the power to make a positive difference in the world; through the way we act, what we wear, where we shop and what we do. Through workshops, guest speakers and exhibitions, Holme Valley Green Week will celebrate sustainability in a festival of ideas.
