About this cause
We provide specialist services and support for individuals, families and unpaid carers living with neuromuscular conditions including Muscular Dystrophy. These long-term, physical disabilities mean that individuals face barriers to participating in daily life. NMC's health, vocational, wellbeing and social connectivity services improve quality of life for local people.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award at NMC provides local young people who have physical disabilities the chance to participate in and achieve the Award, as well as learning new skills, having fun and achieving a qualification. The Award supports young people to build their confidence and increases ambition for the future.
