About this cause
Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is an educational charity based in Sheffield. We provide a range of educational and therapeutic programmes on our working farm with a focus on supporting children and young people who are struggling due to complex and debilitating disadvantages and acute trauma. Our aim is to support youngsters to explore their capacity for growth – physically, emotionally, and creatively. Our priority is to reduce anxiety. We can then support the child/young person to re-engage with education.

How this cause brings people in the community together
Our activities will improve mental wellbeing and reduce anxieties for youngsters. They will learn life skills, gain qualifications, and re-engage with education which will either allow them to return to mainstream school, start a special school, or move on to further education or employment. Whether our students are living with cancer, autism or ADHD, overcoming neglect or coping with bereavement, our unique farm provides a safe, nurturing environment that equips them with the tools to learn, grow in confidence, and build self-esteem and resilience. The immediate impact our unique setting has on their wellbeing cannot be overstated.
