About this cause
We support adults in Nottingham living with long-term mental health issues and experiencing multiple disadvantages, working together to enable them to believe that life can change for the better. We provide one-to-one practical support to address barriers to physical and mental wellbeing, a comprehensive and varied programme of free-to-attend social groups and activities for those experiencing feelings of loneliness, and a befriending service for the most isolated in our community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our groups provide a safe and welcoming space for the people we work with who are living with mental health issues and experiencing social isolation to slowly build confidence and create new connections. They are also an opportunity to both learn new skills and share knowledge or special interests, with many people becoming actively involved by playing a supporting role at our groups themselves and volunteering to support their peers. We provide a varied programme of activities, such as pool, arts and crafts, Pilates, boat trips, theatre shows, crochet, jewellery making and music. These are always free to attend and accessible to all.
