The Friends of Dagnam Park (The Manor)

Our continuing tree planting project is our main aim along with more nest boxes for the wildlife. We also require assistance with our continuing archaeological dig, now in its 11th year.
About this cause
We support the work of Havering Council Parks Department which owns Dagnam Park (The Manor). We do weekly litter picks, tree and foliage planting and management, observation of wildlife (in particular the large population of fallow deer), and reporting any health hazards and problems. We are also continuing the 11-year archaeology dig site project, promoting and informing park visitor's of the site's rich history.
How this cause brings people in the community together
During the Covid period, the number of our park visitors boomed. It was one of the few places we could walk around for positive mental and physical wellbeing. Observing nature is good for our souls. We have 345 acres for anyone to wander around peacefully or if wanting company, in large or small groups. It is also a historic site; we are discovering more of its back story every week as we dig.
