About this cause

We were helping immigrants from EU countries living in England with their daily problems. We supported and improved relations between them and local communities. We were striving to eliminate racial discrimination. We run events for families with chilren (20 times in a year for around 50 people each time). Within the last yearour volunteers have helped 324 people in Newcastle and 167 from other places.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Due to result of EU membership referendum that decided that UK will leave the EU, we would like to create a dedicated playgroup. It will be designed, but not exclusive for EU migrants children. Our playgroup will provide safer and more appealing place for meetings and fun. One of the main aims of the playgroup would be education about tolerance, respect and cooperation between different cultures. We will be open to people from different backgrounds in terms of social standing, nationality, religion or tradition. We would like for the children to learn those tolerant attitudes and take them to their homes and schools. The age group we plan to address will be 4 to 12 years old. We will have adults organising and running the playgroup, as well as a number of young voluntaries.
