Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue

We need funds to buy equipment so we can help the police save the lives of those in danger on cliffs in floods and in difficult terrain.
About this cause
ASSAR is a voluntary charity which helps those in danger on cliffs, in floods and on difficult terrain or those missing where specialist land search techniques are required. The charity responds when the Police Search and Rescue experts decide they, or the other emergency services lack the expertise and/or resource to search for or rescue members of the public who are in imminent danger. ASSAR is funded by voluntary donations, the operational area covers the old Avon and all Somerset, approximately 1800 square miles, and includes areas of dense population, forests, upland, rivers, quarries and two of the UKs highest cliffs - Avon and Cheddar Gorges. The beneficiaries of our service are the communities in the Avon and Somerset Area whose relations we seek to return to their families.
