Bedwas & District Young Farmers Club
People: Supporting young people to fulfil their potential
For the last 80 years we have been supporting our members to take part in competitions, build skills and gain confidence. The Club is a great way to meet new people and make friends for life.
About this cause
We are a small organisation for fun loving individuals aged between 10-28, competing and socialising throughout the county of Gwent. Our aim is advancing the education of young members and the public at large in agriculture, home crafts, country life and related subjects. We work with members to build skills in a safe and friendly environment, in turn boosting their confidence, and encourage members to take part in the many different competitions we offer.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Bedwas and District Young Farmers is celebrating 80 years of supporting young people. We are a group run by volunteers who train and encourage members to compete locally and nationally within a range of disciplines e.g tug of war, craft, public speaking, stock judging, farm safety, fencing and shearing. There really is something for everyone, no matter their background or skill set. The charity supports around 50 young people locally, offering members the opportunity to try something new and develop transferable skills. Overall, it is great way to meet new people and make memories to last a lifetime.
