Help improve our kitchen facilities so that we can increase services that we offer to our community.
About this cause
We are a community centre in the heart of our village, we work with our local community ages 0 - 90's The community centre is run by a management committee of volunteers. We offer drop in sessions, lunch clubs for lonely and isolated people over 60. Groups for parent and toddlers, young people, children aged 8 - 11, sports groups including badminton, karate, football and archery. A service for adults with learning disabilities. We hold coffee mornings, family social evenings and fundraising social events. We hire out rooms to clubs for all ages. We offer sign posting to professional agencies to help local people. We support and work in partnership with similar organisations in our area.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By improving our kitchen facilities we will be able to offer more services to our local community. We will be able to host events and provide catering facilities. We will be able to expand our lunch clubs, give us the opportunity to offer classes to local families; cooking classes for children, how to 'cook on a budget' , classes on 'healthy eating' with meal planning and cooking demonstrations.
