We need a laptop for our outreach advice project, to give disabled people across the Borough benefits and quality of life support.
About this cause
We are a disabled salespeople, user led organisation. Established in 1987 to enable disabled and able bodied people, to come together on equal terms. To improve the quality of life and enhance life choices to all those in our area, disadvantaged by some aspect of disability and ill health. We are wholly independent and reliant upon charitable trust donations and members own fundraising. We do not receive donations form central government or the local authority. We provide morning, afternoon, evening and weekend free supported activities. Also opportunities to people whose needs are diverse but share the problems of poor emotional and physical and physical well being. Health and social care, leisure and learning, advice and guidance, sports arts music and training.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Disabled and chronically sick people sometimes struggle to travel because of the costs and their physical needs. We provide satellite advice services across the Borough in different areas - i.e we go to them. Better support, greater access to entitlements, healthier communities. Digital change means reliance on IT and many people struggle with this, libraries don't have disability software. People of all ages, families and groups in North Tyneside. 1 in 4 people are disabled or chronically ill. Economy and changing benefit issues are huge problems. This will help us maximise incomes, bring essential support to peoples lives and bring people together via supporting their own and each others needs.
