Mental wellbeing
We'd like to be able to provide a greater variety of activities and experiences for children, and offer a wider choice of healthy snacks, food and other services to support the families who attend.

About this cause
We are a group for babies and toddlers and their parents or carers. Our main aim is to provide opportunities for young babies and toddlers, and their carers, to mix with others for their mental health and wellbeing. Judging by the numbers we are getting each week it certainly seems like this is much needed. During the pandemic young children and their carers were unable to meet others and socialise, causing difficulties for both adults and children. We now have a very mixed group of families from different social and cultural backgrounds, and we operate on a no booking system so they can just drop in. We also do not charge a set fee, although we have a donation pot if families feel able to contribute to our running costs for crafts, refreshments and heating in the winter.

How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will continue to provide a much-needed opportunity for babies and young children, and their parents or carers, to meet others and socialise. Since many of the children born during the pandemic did not get this opportunity the need is even greater than before. The children will be able to develop socially by interacting with others, and for the adults it provides a chance to meet and befriend others in a similar situation, thus helping their mental wellbeing. At a time of high costs for all, we can provide a service without a costly fee, and a warm, safe space with healthy refreshments and a variety of fun activities.
