About this cause

Immanuel Southbourne provides many activities and meeting places for the local community to make friends at Jubilatte Cafe, Foodbank, Men's Shed, Penguins parent and toddler groups, Sparkle Time for parents and autistic children, Memory Lane for those with dementia, Friendship Club, Wellbeing 120, Friday Films, Tuesday Stroll, indoor sports sessions, Singing for the Mind, Cycling without Age, Lunch Club and special events such as our Christmas Extravaganza and Summer Fair. With ever-increasing pressure on the NHS and local services, our community centre provides part of the solution for those with poor mental health, loneliness, bereavement, dementia, disabilities and poverty. A social prescriber from Help and Care said: "What Immanuel offers is greater than the sum of its parts."

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our project will continue to support people with poor mental health in our local community by providing a safe and welcoming environment where it is okay not to be okay. Our Jubilatte Cafe is a hub for all the varied activities on offer. Our aim is to improve the wellbeing of people in our local community so that they live more fulfilling lives and feel part of the vibrant Immanuel Southbourne community, improving social cohesion and feeling supported through life's crises.
