Heavy Sound CIC
People: Supporting young people to fulfil their potential
We would like support to maintain our Crib (Community Reach & Inclusion Bus), a 40ft bus converted by residents of HMP Edinburgh. It is designed to engage with some of our most marginalised groups.

About this cause
Heavy Sound transforms the lives of vulnerable and disengaged young people and adults across East Lothian, Midlothian and Edinburgh. We work with young people to improve their health, wellbeing and capability by teaching them new skills in music, biking, sports, life skills and mentoring, leading them into positive pathways to future destinations. We work with adults involved in the criminal justice system in HMP Edinburgh and in the community, building relationships and supporting them into services. Our lived experience mentors show people that change is possible.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will continue to engage and support people in our communities, particularly young people and those who are vulnerable, disengaged or on the periphery. The Crib provides a safe meeting space, as well as access to various services and activities, such as music and mentoring projects. We are keen to work with partner services across East Lothian to maximise this difference that the project can make in these communities.
