About this cause

Wild Hive Collective CIC is a group of passionate local growers: educators, ecologists and environmentalists. In 2022 we were invited to be Changemakers for Eastleigh's Sustainability Hub. We work with various school, outdoor learning and community growing sites in and around Eastleigh to bring sustainable growing into the community. By helping people to connect with nature, and demonstrating the numerous ‘harvests’ that can be grown, shared and enjoyed through sustainable growing practices, we hope to empower and naturally inspire this and the next generation. These positive environmental actions draw our local communities together, as we collectively discover healthy and low-impact ways to protect the planet, wildlife and ourselves – offering hope for a Greener, brighter future.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our 'Good to Grow' project focuses on enthusing and enabling young people and those with limited access or means (including, but not limited to, financial, physical, or mental wellbeing related) to learn about and benefit from sustainable and nature-led growing practices – for nourishing food; wellbeing; biodiversity; and local resilience. We offer seasonal nature-connection and practical growing sessions in educational and community settings. We outreach knowledge and skills gathered in local community farms and gardens, to help people to appreciate and enhance the landscape on their doorsteps for beneficial impact – on themselves and our natural environment. As coordinators for Sustain's Good to Grow Network, we aim to connect and champion more accessible local growing sites.
