LinkAble
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We support children and adults with learning disabilities and would like to take them on trips to farms, parks, bowling and places they will enjoy visiting.
About this cause
LinkAble is a Woking based charity that has been supporting children and adults with learning disabilities for over 30 years. We are passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live joyful and purpose-driven lives. Our groups offer people a place to feel safe and comfortable being themselves, with room to grow and develop at their own pace. In our fully accessible centre in Woking, the LinkAble community enjoys activities every day of the week and during holidays. We also run regular day trips across Surrey to ensure that our beneficiaries are visible in the community and can enjoy a range of experiences. Our highly skilled staff ensure that every person using our services receives tailored care and activities to meet their individual needs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do; we promise to support the unique needs, preferences and values of every person who uses our services. We are here for people at every stage of their life, from five years old, with no upper limit. Service users try fun new things, make friends and practice life skills, learn new skills, build independence and explore their community, and explore the world around them in a safe and supported environment. We support people with autistic spectrum disorders, global developmental delay, Down's Syndrome, speech and language disorders, along with a wide range of other disabilities.
