About this cause

At RBLI, our main purpose is to provide a range of services to help veterans and their families across the UK improve their health, mental wellbeing and holistic support tailored to their needs. Ultimately our aim is to help veterans and their families back towards full independence in civilian life. Based in our multigenerational village in Aylesford, we support the armed forces, people with disabilities and people who are unemployed. Our village is home to more than 300 residents living in a mix of family homes, accessible independent apartments, supported living and care homes which specialise in dementia care. We also have an onsite factory called Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) where over 70% of employees are veterans or have a disability.

How this cause brings people in the community together

RBLI creates a significant impact by supporting veterans of all ages facing various challenges. Upon arrival, veterans often carry nothing but scepticism and anxiety, but RBLI steps in to address their immediate needs. Through emergency accommodation, essential supplies, and comprehensive mental health and employment support, we provide a lifeline for individuals and their families. Our assistance extends beyond material aid, as we strive to keep families together, preserving their wellbeing and dignity after the heart-wrenching experience of homelessness. By fostering stability and lending a helping hand, RBLI brings about a positive transformation in the lives of veterans and the wider community. Together, we build a stronger and more compassionate society.
