Pregnancy Sickness Support
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
1 in 4 women suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum will experience suicidal thoughts. We wish to alleviate their suffering by offering online and telephone counselling to help heal their pain.

About this cause
We aim to improve the mental health of those who are/have experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum through a programme of condition specific counselling and resources designed to help with mental wellbeing. We aim to ensure that the sufferer's feelings are validated and provide them with the resources and tools needed to be able to overcome the trauma caused by extreme pregnancy sickness and the loss of the life they once knew. We will help women currently suffering and those who have suffered in the past, but are left with the psychological scars the condition causes. We offer counselling sessions with qualified and registered UK counsellors and this funding will help to provide sessions for those who otherwise would not have the means to access counselling.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will provide fully funded HG counselling sessions for sufferers, who are experiencing trauma and psychological suffering following their experience of having HG. We aim to bring accessible, condition specific support to those in need. It is within the safe and trusted relationship with a HG specialist counsellor, that the overwhelming feelings can be explored and healing can begin. This work will ensure our beneficiaries who have had a MH impact from their HG experience will have access to the crucial understanding and support that they need to be able to move forward in their life. This could help them go on to have other children. It will ensure that those currently experiencing HG are well safeguarded and supported by professional counsellors.
