Halifax Young Singers
People: Supporting young people to fulfil their potential
We would like to provide a Young Singers Development Fund that enables kids aged 7-19 from all backgrounds to join Halifax Young Singers and enjoy the mental health benefits of singing in a choir.

About this cause
Halifax Young Singers brings the mental health benefits of singing to the young people of Calderdale and gives performances in the wider community. The new children's choir welcomes children from all backgrounds from age 7 onwards, and develops their singing ability and performance skill as they prepare to join the 11-19 year olds in the youth choir. The choir's goal is to provide a Young Singers Development Fund to ensure all children have access to this happy, healthy, team-building activity. The choir provides a safe space for neurodivergent young people to enjoy participation and performances.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our Young Singers Development Fund will enable young people from all backgrounds to make new friends and build their confidence through singing with Halifax Young Singers. Participation in music has proven health and wellbeing benefits and it is important to our choir to reach out to the children and teenagers who were impacted by the Covid pandemic. The choir's performances are uplifting community events for families and the public to enjoy in locations across Calderdale.
