Clifton NG11 Foodbank
Our Foodbank helps those in crisis, but the rising cost of living has directly affected our donations which are slowing. Please help us to purchase those food items and essentials we desperately need.
About this cause
Our focus is to supply three days of nutritionally balanced non-perishable emergency food to people in crisis within Clifton and its surrounding areas. We do not think that anyone in the community should have to face going hungry. We have a range of local community assets to work alongside in response to the wider range of challenges facing users of the foodbank. Additional support now includes a “Food Box” service in partnership with FareShare and budgeting courses. We also help with fuel poverty and provide a warm space for those who need it. We want to deliver the core service of the Clifton NG11 Foodbank together with a range of expanded services that address the needs of foodbank users, including food skills training, financial literacy, and holiday hunger among local children.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Clifton NG11 Foodbank was set up in 2012 to support local people to alleviate hunger, restoring dignity and hope. We now collaborate with over 75 partner organisations within the community which issue our food vouchers for food parcels. Our partners include local schools, health services, advice centres, housing associations, welfare rights departments and job support centres, which all hold our food vouchers for referral of food parcels to people who are struggling to make ends meet. We also provide food ingredients to local community kitchens and partner with local stores to top up energy cards. In addition to our core Foodbank deliverables, we run a support programme which is an initiative that educates, upskills and provides on-going support. We are here to serve our community.
