About the Project
The refurbishment and updating of the park will benefit all of the children and families in the Village. The park also attracts families from outside of the area when sporting events, football matches etc are held. The playground, within the park is a large, varies and safe place for play and closure, should it not be maintained would be a big loss to the community. We rank high on the Multiple Index of Deprivation, with regard to access to services, and this is something that everyone can use, without the need to travel. Consultation in the summer with local families ( around 80 adults and children) showed that they want to see the park refurbished and for it to be in a condition that additional activities could be offered, as well as free play.
About the Charity
Llanddewi Brefi is a small village community and we are lucky to have a site comprising a large hall, football pitch, park and playground. The Hall Committee are pushing forward a series of improvements to update the site, one main one being repair, replacement and resurfacing in the children's playground, addressing accessibility and changing styles of play. We are also promoting the facilities to ensure that they are increasing used by the community and are suitable to host both community and sport events. As a mum to an 12 year old I know that outdoor play is a very important activity for children, - and ranking low on the Multiple Derivation index for access to services, we are focussed on ensuring our playground remains open and engaging for the children into the future.
