We provide seeds, plants, compost etc, and the time and knowledge of our volunteers for free to everyone in our communities, to show them simple processes and sustainably grow their own food.
About this cause
We wish to encourage people of all ages to grow their own food, to eat seasonally and healthily, and share their produce and knowledge with others in the community by giving everyone the means and support to do this.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Being outdoors is seen to have lots of health benefits, and gentle exercise in gardening can be undertaken by people of all ages. Our project will seek for people to grow with each other, share their stories and share their knowledge. We aim to reduce social isolation by having people come to our allotment and community growing spaces and help us grow food, and for people to share seedlings and plants with their neighbours.
