About this cause
We provide the materials and patterns for members of our community and beyond to enjoy their hobbies, giving them a purpose and a sense of satisfaction, improving general mental wellbeing. We currently have around 250 local stitchers and several remote stitchers around the UK. We provide items to individuals, organisations and hospital departments to support those needing a little boost at a time of need. We support areas such as cancer, heart and surgical wards, neonatal, dementia awareness, hidden disabilities, homelessness, animal rescue and treatment shelters, senior support, soldiers and refugees of Ukraine, and we provide knitted knockers, which are alternative knitted prosthetics for breast cancer survivors and amputees.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We provide free materials and patterns for members of our community and beyond, allowing them to afford to pursue their hobbies in the current cost-of-living crisis. We helped during Covid to provide stitchers with a purpose and a sense of satisfaction, improving general mental wellbeing. We provide items to individuals, organisations and hospital departments to support those needing a little boost at a time of need. We run several local stitcher groups, local stalls and craft groups supporting many communities around Basingstoke.
