About this cause

We are a Kent-based, baby loss charity providing support and counselling for bereaved parents and families, as well as specialist bereavement training for midwives and healthcare professionals. Since 2010, we have improved the way bereaved parents are cared for by hospitals and educated midwives on how to care for grieving parents. Sadly, stillbirths and neonatal deaths occur daily, yet many hospitals are not equipped to deal with the parental care required. By working with medical professionals to understand the issues and seek solutions, our charity has helped many families in our community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We believe it is important to make bereavement support available to everyone following the death of a baby. The consequences of failing to provide adequate counselling are demonstrated by the number of people who have never received it. Our project gives families - mum, dad and siblings - access to counselling at several locations, or online if required. Our aim, at this time, is for all families to have access to specialist bereavement support and care. This can lead to a more cohesive family unit, where all family members can support each other, and bereaved families can learn to live after the loss of a baby.
