We would like to hire a theatre company to give in-school performances of our key GCSE texts – An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol and Macbeth – providing a more engaging and meaningful context.
About this cause
We're a group who want to advance the education of pupils in school by engaging in activities to provide additional facilities or equipment. With the money raised we support different departments; e.g. a data logger device for Science, a stage piano replacement for a broken one for Music, Lego kits for Learning Support and an online subscription to Vocab Express for Modern Foreign Languages.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Literacy is a skill which will impact all students for life; it prepares them for their future. The previous 2.5 years of their learning have been so disrupted that providing an engaging and interesting way to boost their literacy and learning in this post-Covid recovery is more important than ever. Seeing a real performance of the plays will give them a more meaningful context.
