Sydenham Garden
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to provide weekly therapeutic sessions, giving support to people referred to our Growing Lives project for a better quality of life.

About this cause
Sydenham Garden’s mission is to promote the physical and mental wellbeing of residents living in South London, by providing a community garden where horticulture is used for therapy and rehabilitation, opportunities for training and creative expression, and the preservation of the environment for the benefit through nature conservation or the promotion of biological diversity.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our goal is to make things better for South East London residents experiencing mental or physical ill-health, who have been referred to us for a year long placement. We provide weekly social and therapeutic horticultural sessions in an inclusive and supportive community environment on our market garden site, which enhances wildlife and biodiversity.
