Horsham Community Fridge
Access to food
In the last 1.5 years, we have grown from 4 users to over 80 every open day. This funding will help us to continue to increase the amount of food we can save from landfill and provide free to people.
About this cause
The Horsham Community Fridge rescues short-dated food from grocery stores and other food businesses that is otherwise destined for the landfill. We safely store it (for example, freeze food within use-by dates) and give it away to the general public for free.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project makes a difference in our community because it is providing another way for people to access food, and reduces carbon emissions in the local area. We are open to everyone, which means we help people who come to us because of food needs, regardless of if they are eligible for the food bank, and also people who use us to reduce their carbon footprint.
