Friends of the ODA Memorial Gardens
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We aim to create a sensory community garden with wildflower meadow planting to form a quiet area for reflection to help improve people's mental health and personal wellbeing.
About this cause
We're a group who want to rejuvenate and create an innovative community garden for all residents and visitors to promote health and wellbeing. The primary purpose as a place of remembrance will be maintained but our aim is to redesign and improve the area so that it becomes a regular place for villagers to meet, socialise and enjoy while ensuring the gardens are suitable for quiet reflection.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We will will create a formal dedicated area for remembrance; provide areas to promote reflection, health and wellbeing; encourage the fostering of community spirit and facilitate volunteering; serve as a venue for social, cultural, heritage, sport and educational events; bring people together.
