Open to residents interested in the benefits of gardening in a social group, we wish to make full use of the allotment plot with our new, larger polytunnel with funding for its secure installation.
About this cause
We are an inclusive community gardening group for people to gain the health, social and wellbeing benefits of growing. Originally for people living with a learning disability or mental health condition, our allotment is now open for all residents to enjoy.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Funding to get the polytunnel set up will give our Community Gardeners many more opportunities to grow plants and vegetables, benefiting from healthy outdoor activities whilst meeting new people and learning new skills. It will also lead to further opportunities for our gardeners to grow more produce for community kitchens and other food sharing initiatives, benefiting the wider community.
