We would like to provide free holiday creative activities, sports and healthy meals to children and young people aged 5 to 15 in the community.
About this cause
We provide a safe, welcoming space free from poverty and social exclusion in which we conduct flexible, affordable accredited educational and training sessions. African Community School supports Black, Global Majority and European migrant children, young people and families who are experiencing high levels of poverty, low or no income, social isolation, loneliness, and No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will: build social connections; create opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference, e.g. by confidence building; provide emotional wellbeing support; help improve mental wellbeing; bring people together to access food, e.g. with healthy holiday meals and snacks; give access to sports and physical activities; and reduce isolation.
