We would like to use podcasting to engage with young volunteers to develop their confidence and skills in digital media, empowering them to produce their own podcasts and be heard.
About this cause
Using podcasting to highlight the richness of Islay and Jura's culture and heritage, our goal is to build digital media skills in inclusive volunteer groups and engage with young people to allow their voices to be heard. We have already built partnerships with Islay High School and the Mactaggart Youth and Families Outreach Services (MYFOS), engaging them on topics such as COP26 and Fairtrade.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We highlight our community's strengths and cultural richness. Podcasts bring a friendly voice to all including the remote and isolated, regardless of age and social situation. Through partnerships and community events we will engage with young people, develop their podcasting skills, and give them their own voice in conversation with peers, on topics of their own choosing.
