People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to create sensory boxes for our most vulnerable children and introduce really fun-filled, educational sensory boxes for every child with sensory needs in our hospital.
About this cause
Radio Lollipop volunteers provide care, comfort, play and entertainment for children and young people in hospital. The children request their favourite songs, win prizes and hear their own voices on the radio, take part in arts and crafts and games, and have access to books and toys helping to alleviate loneliness and boredom. It has been proven that a happy child gets better quicker, and we believe in the healing power of play.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We would like to have bespoke play items for our most vulnerable kids in hospital. Raising funds to introduce sensory boxes will make a difference to the patients and their families by ensuring that they feel included and are enjoying the world of play. Every child should experience play, fun and laughter, and we want to ensure no child is missed out.
