Transition Chichester – Food For Friends
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to hire a kitchen to prep food, buy ingredients (where surplus produce isn't available) and provide transport for refugees living at a distance, to eat meals cooked together.

About this cause
Food For Friends (FFF) will be a Transition Chichester (TC) project. TC is an environmental group seeking to build sustainable community by growing food through employing a horticulturalist to help the volunteers, caring for two local orchards, and also by regular Swap Shop events and an Eco-Cinema. TC is an umbrella for projects like Chichester's Repair Cafe and now FFF.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will enable integration of our newest incomers – the refugees – by offering a kitchen where they can share their skills and culture by cooking and eating together. Our volunteers will befriend them and help them improve their language skills. Through this activity, the group will develop mutual respect, thus promoting social justice.
