Community Transport Calderdale
Mental wellbeing
Volunteer carers push wheelchairs and support people with dementia, enabling everyone to go on "Out & About" trips to wildlife parks, gardens and the seaside. Your funding will help "Carers Go Free".
About this cause
Community Transport Calderdale helps people at risk of isolation due to low mobility, ill-health or disability. Our Volunteer Car Service helps people go to social activities, meet friends, go shopping and attend medical appointments. Our Accessible Minibuses take individuals and local community groups on "Out & About" day trips. We also run NHS-funded patient transport services.

How this cause brings people in the community together
"Out & About: Carers Go Free" aims to ensure everyone in our community has a chance to socialise and have fun on our "Out & About" trips, regardless of mobility level or health conditions such as dementia. Social activities and making new friends reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing. "Carers Go Free" supports this by funding entry fees and expenses for volunteer carers.
