People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We are looking to open further Elderberries Centres across the Bexley borough, and would like to provide a range of activities and events as well as help with digital inclusion.
About this cause
Elderberries Centres are safe places for older people to meet, make new friends, have something to eat, gain help and advice and reduce loneliness. With two centres already operating, we hope to open a further four across the Bexley borough this year. We also wish to provide activities and events at the centres while working with Bexley's Digital Champions to assist with clients' IT needs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Elderberries Centres provide a safe and inclusive space for older people to make new friends, socialise and connect with others. By expanding these centres across the borough, providing activities and events, we strengthen our community's social integration. These safe places enable people to meet, help eliminate loneliness and isolation and promote physical and mental wellbeing.
