We want to raise mental health awareness, train people, perform events, run workshops and host talks to bring useful info to the community.
About this cause
Sparky's cafe is a not profit business, the money we get goes directly to people we support and our work tackle mental health stigma and social isolation. Our commitment is to be able to train volunteers and apprentices with mental health problems enriching their communication, catering, team work and customer service skills. We perform regular events, workshops and talks and we would like next year to be able to do more, such as eating disorder awareness talk, alcohol screen day event, depression screen day event, women mental health awareness talk, impact of racism in mental health, yoga workshop, art workshop, food and mood workshop, loving your environment and loving yourself walk, etc.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Sparky's cafe is a new social business where the people we support come before profit. We're committed to training our team of volunteers and apprentices, improving their confidence, culinary abilities, communication skills and customer service to help them to move forward in life. We will support adults and young people with mental health problems, bringing useful info through the events, workshops and talks. These will help people to exchange info and experiences, the volunteers will receive specific frame work according to their needs to enable them to successfully and actively collaborate in the organisation and performance of our activities and also build confidence and skills.
