About this cause

The Home was founded in 1955 and incorporated as a charitable non-profit-making organisation in 1965. Accommodation is provided for 25 residents and responsibility for the Home's operation is vested in a volunteer management committee and the manager of the Home. Residents, the majority of whom are self-funding, are provided with 24-hour care, although independence is encouraged and supported. The original listed 17th century Manor House is in constant need of repair and renovation and safety lighting, fire and alarm systems have all been recently upgraded to ensure that a secure environment for the residents.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The project will ensure thatl residents and staff/carers are able to access all parts of the large attractive gardens, vegetable plots and greenhouse. There are a number of wheelchair users and older residents who have mobility issues and a suitable ramp to replace steps would make a significant improvement. It would be a project that with financial help could be implemented later in the summer of 2017
