Worcester Cathedral
Biodiversity and climate change
We plan to rewild public spaces around the cathedral to help our insect and bird population: promoting a healthy food ecosystem, which, in turn, will allow bug hunts and garden tours.
About this cause
Worcester Cathedral has been serving the community since the seventh century. At the heart of everything we do lies the commitment to prayer, learning, and promoting the values of love, compassion and freedom. We're working towards the Eco Church gold standard and our vision for 2030 is to achieve net zero carbon emissions. Our journey will include projects and events celebrating biodiversity.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The whole community is welcome to come and enjoy our rewilding areas, and the insects and birds that flourish in them. The community can get involved too, by taking part in our wildlife surveys and other events designed to educate and promote biodiversity. We want to make a difference in the community by showing people how they can support nature in their own gardens.
