Our food collection project encourages our local community to donate food and toiletries to help others who are less fortunate and going through hardship.
About this cause
Mannofield Food Collection was set up in March 2019 as the pandemic became serious here in Aberdeen. We realised people were going to face hardship and thought we could help by collecting food and toiletries. The foodbank is hugely grateful for the collection and tells us how they, in turn, have managed to help many people including those living in poverty, the unemployed or homeless.
How this cause brings people in the community together
In general, people like to help and feel they are being kind. This project encourages our community to donate food and toiletries which are then given to others who are less fortunate and are struggling with the practicalities of life. The generosity of this community helps in a practical way to make life a little bit easier for others, and in so doing we are making the world a better place.
