We support the community with a focus on food provision and also combating isolation and loneliness. We'd like funding for food costs and for kitchen equipment.
About this cause
Our goal is to serve the community. Our community café is now open six days a week and also at other times for community events. We organise several groups including Fun on Friday, a luncheon club, and we'll shortly be hosting a monthly gathering on a Sunday called Death, Loss and Change - as well as 12 other regular groups who use the premises.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Gillespie Centre offers a safe space for individuals and groups. More than 12 groups use the premises every week, including the luncheon club for our older generation, and Fun on Friday which is for all ages and includes crafts, music, and of course, lots of cups of tea, coffee, and treats.
