The Friends of Farsley Rehoboth Burial Ground
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to provide tools, plants and equipment for creating and maintaining accessible paths. We wholly maintain this historic site with a roster of volunteers and community support.
About this cause
Farsley Rehoboth Burial Ground is situated on Coal Hill Lane. For decades there was no access even to war graves. The neglect to the steep and wooded site was such that it was referred to by residents as “The Jungle”. We have galvanised the community to take ownership and, through their dedication and the skills of unpaid volunteers, have reclaimed this historic site.

How this cause brings people in the community together
We reunite local families, history and heritage to the community by reclaiming and maintaining the historic Farsley Rehoboth and its ecology, whilst creating a real community asset. We record the memories of relatives and residents preserving the history interred in the Rehoboth with digital books, historic photos, detailed maps and heritage events in the communities of Farsley and Rodley.
