More than ever people are turning to Citizens Advice for help – whether that's accessing benefits, managing debts or sorting energy bills. We're looking to train more volunteers and need your help.
About this cause
We are a local independent charity who provide free, independent, and impartial advice to people in the Guildford borough. We have two key aims: to provide the advice people need for problems they face and to improve policies and practices that affect people’s lives. We give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are and whatever their problem.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We know advice makes a huge difference to people's lives in our community. Our clients tell us: 74% that their issues were urgent or needed action when they contacted us; 78% find a way forward following support; 71% feel less depressed, stressed, or anxious because of our help; 51% see their physical health improve because of our help; and 66% say they couldn’t deal with their issue themselves.
